This workshop is designed for international actors wanting to increase their opportunities to work in English in the international film industry.
Anne has been coaching with international actors for over 18 years and has several years’ experience working in film and TV supporting international artists speaking English.
International actors don't need to have 'a perfect English accent' to get cast in English feature films but if your English speech delivery is clear, well-modulated, and well-paced, you stand a much better chance of being cast and developing a career in the English-speaking film industry.
These techniques form a tool kit that once learned and practised, will increase your English speech skills and enable you to find the right speech pattern, speech shaped and pace of delivery to match your inner intention and be absolutely believable. This increases your 'credibility' factor in auditions, castings and self-tapes. You will learn and practise the complete tool kit over the course of the workshop and will leave knowing much more about professional approaches to film and TV dialogue in English.
IN THE WORKSHOP YOU WILL LEARN TO:
The workshop will begin with a physical and vocal warm-up, where you will be introduced to the sounds and sensations of the neutral English template, in a creative and playful way. From there we will systematically explore, develop and build on each new aspect introduced from three different perspectives: the technical, the practical and the creative in whole group, smaller group, and pair formats. You will get the opportunity to work on a minimum of two different pieces of film dialogue in front of the camera over the two days and receive both group and individual feedback during and post-workshop.
MAXIMUM 12 STUDENTS: ALL ACTORS WILL COMPLETE A SELF-RECORDED AUDIO DIAGNOSTIC AND EMAIL IT TO ANNE BEFORE THE START OF THE WORKSHOP.
NOTE: PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS COURSE IS ENTIRELY IN ENGLISH.
