Hal Masonberg
Hal Masonberg has worked in the Hollywood film industry for over 30 years. Before relocating to Catalunya from Los Angeles, Hal worked as a casting session director, cutting his teeth on such films as WHAT’S EATING GILBERT GRAPE. Hal has directed hundreds of commercial and television auditions and has taught acting and auditioning workshops in Los Angeles for over 15 years, as well as being a private acting coach. Hal has also worked as a master acting teacher for California State University’s Summer Arts Program. Hal specialises in guiding actors to find the most honest and revealing personal interpretations of both scripts and characters. Before arriving in Hollywood, Hal studied film and theatre in Sweden, worked for the Seattle International Film Festival, and booked art-house cinemas up and down the U.S. and Canadian west coast. Once in Hollywood, Hal worked in a number of different capacities from First Assistant Director to Script Supervisor to Props and Swing Gang. Hal has worked alongside many of the top casting directors in the film and television industry, as well as having worked with such directors as Lasse Hallström, Spike Jonze, Ridley Scott, Sofia Coppola, Guy Ritchie and many more. Hal has auditioned and worked with hundreds of actors including Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Andrew Garfield, Jason Bateman, Shelley Winters and many others. In addition to his casting work, Hal is also a writer/director of feature films and has worked for Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Disney and Screen Gems. His feature doc “Jazz Nights: A Confidential Journey” won the Audience Award at the 2017 Copenhagen Jazz Film Festival. Hal’s cinematic eye and love for jazz and other intrepid musical performances led him to a successful career in live music photography. He has been the head photographer for LeRoy Downs’ world-famous Just Jazz Series in Los Angeles and he currently works as a photographer for the Voll-Damm Festival de Jazz de Barcelona as well as the Skull & Roses Music Festival in Ventura, CA. |
Luke Manning Luke Manning is a highly experienced improviser and improv teacher. He has trained at the Spontaneity Shop, Monkey Toast, and Free Association in London. He is a co-founder of London-based group Shoot From The Hip, who have had weekly residencies at some of London’s top comedy clubs (Top Secret and Angel Comedy) as well as performing onstage at the Comedy Store London and Boom Chicago! In Amsterdam. With SFTH he has also taught 8-week improv courses and performed for various corporate clients. As part of sketch duo In Cahoots he has written sketches for BBC Radio 4 and a web-series for Channel 4. |
Luci Lenox Luci Lenox is an award winning casting director based in Spain. She has cast over 100 productions and her client list includes Netflix, Fox, Amazon, BBC, Sky, Hulu, Lionsgate, Paramount, ABC, Disney, NBC and MediaPro as well as numerous Spanish independent producers. Films she has cast have won over 250 awards at International Film Festivals. Luci’s career and education previous to becoming a casting director have given her a unique insight into different worlds. This includes running nightclubs in Barcelona combined with a stint at MTV Europe, tour managing for a rock band and subsequently Europe’s leading avant-garde theatre company, LA FURA DELS BAUS. She was a producer for the Millennium Event in Barcelona as well as producing Barcelona’s alternative fashion week “Circuit” for several years. She has a multi-layered knowledge of urban culture, musicians, fashion and professional actors. Luci has lived, toured, and worked in many different parts of the world, including Algeria, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ukraine, Namibia and Zambia. Her contact list is truly international which allows her to locate talent from across the globe. Luci is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in our industry. In Europe, she was on the board of the CSA and was the head of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is on the committee for Diversity and Inclusion for both CSA (Europe) and APDICE (Spanish Casting Directors Association). She is also an active participant in ACTORS BEYOND BORDERS to help actors from around the world who are currently refugees. Luci has been on the jury or panels at numerous film festivals including Sitges, the London Film Festival and Cannes. She is a member of the Catalan and European Film Academies, CSA, ICDN and APDICE. Mike Cater Born and raised just outside of London, Mike began working as an casting associate to Luci Lenox in 2017, co-ordinating the TV & film department at Frank Stein Studio. Together they have worked on numerous projects, most recently films and series for HBO, Netflix, Amazon & Showtime. He studied English & Spanish at Royal Holloway, University of London. On graduating, he worked consistently in talent management and worked at a top London agency for 4 years before making the move to Barcelona. Mike's wealth of experience in management, casting and English language teaching has given him a wider perspective of an actor's potential and a strong ability to assess what an actor should improve upon to succeed. |
