The Course
This 2-week intensive training programme for actors who want to improve the scope of their career on a global scale. This course is a great way to perform and learn from world class industry professionals and benefit from their expertise working in an international market.
During this intensive course, students will have over 25 hours of on-camera instruction at Frank Stein Studio with Luci Lenox and a team of internationally renowned casting directors, managers, acting coaches, and voice & dialect coaches. Students will receive 1-on-1 interviews and classes with the instructors to assess individual aims and create a strategy specifically curated to optimize their potential. On completion of the course, each student will be given edited material of scenes they have filmed, a portfolio of professional headshots and a personalised marketing plan for their next steps. This course is delivered over two weeks of intensive full-time training (25+ hours) at Frank Stein Studio, Barcelona. Luci Lenox is a casting director who has worked in the film industry for the last fifteen years between Barcelona, Spain and the UK. Her specialities are International productions shooting in Spain and European co-productions but she also enjoys working with first time filmmakers. She has worked on many highly successful projects which include the feature films 'Perfume' directed by Tom Tykwer, Woody Allen's 'Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona' and Mabrouk el Mechri's 'Cold Light of Day' and Larry Charles' "The Dictator" among others. She has worked for some of the world's leading production companies including Constantine, Filmax, MediaPro, Disney, Summit, Intrepid, and Kanzaman. She started ICE Casting with Pep Armengol in 2005. As a team Luci and Pep are passionate perfectionists who pride themselves on attention to detail. Resourceful and creative, they specialize in putting together casts with an international look but are based locally. Camilla Valentine-Isola
She started working as an assistant actor's agent back in the 80's before she moved to Spain. She became the assistant to the casting director Debbie McWilliams, who was at that time casting a project in Madrid. She then worked under Mary Selway, also in Madrid, before starting on her own. She has worked on numerous projects with many different producers and directors, both big budget American films and tiny budget Spanish films. She has had a very long association with KanZaman, Babieka Films and Tornasol Films, and has continued to work with many other producers and directors at the same time. She has collaborated with many casting directors all over the world. Amongst the many directors she has worked with and her many credits are: Nick Hamm (Talk of Angels), Paul McWigan (The Reckoning), Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast), Gracia Querejeta (15 Años y 1 Dia; Felices 140), Juan Jose Campanella (13 part TV series: Vientos de Agua; El Secreto de Sus Ojos (Spain)), Alex de la Iglesia (Oxford Murders; La Balada Triste de Trompeta), Milos Forman (Goya's Ghosts), Donald Petrie (My Life In Ruins), 3 Seasons of the television series Borgia for Tom Fontana (Spain), Andy Tenant (Wild Oats), Fernando Leon (A Perfect Day), Kevin Reynolds (Risen), Terry George (The Promise), Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Leavey)..and also has assisted with casting on several Bond films. She is a founder member of the International Casting Director's Network (ICDN) which meets annually at the Berlin Film Festival during the Shooting Stars event. Originally hails from Toronto, Canada. She's an actor, comedian, improviser and one of the founding members of the Barcelona Improv Group. You can watch them perform monthly at a local theatre here in the city. She has created and taught workshops for kids, teens, adults and is currently teaching improv classes to actors at Frank Stein Studio. She definitely loves coaching actors of all ages and encourages her students to approach class from a place of endless possibilities and a lot of joy! Mike Cater
Born and raised just outside London, Mike Cater began working with Luci Lenox in 2017, co-ordinating the TV & film casting department at Frank Stein Studio. He studied Engish & Spanish at Royal Holloway University of London. On graduating he worked consistently in talent management and was an agent at Sainou Talent Agency for 4 years before making the move to Barcelona. Mike’s wealth of experience in management, casting and English language teaching has given him a wider perspective of an actor’s potential and a strong ability to assess what an actor should improve upon to succeed. Jofre Alsina
Barcelona born Jofre Alsina gained a BA Hons. in Physical Theatre at the Spanish Institut del Teatre. He studied drama at Rose Bruford College in London, where he further developed his piano and double bass skills. He graduated in 2009 with a BA Hons in Actor-Musicianship. During his training, Jofre played Papa Gonzalez in ‘Summer And Smoke’, Duke Frederick in ‘As You Like It’ and the MD & Mayor in ‘Moll Flanders’ at the New Players Theatre. |
