Paul Weber is one of Hollywood’s most respected casting directors, with over three decades of experience and a reputation for discovering and cultivating top talent.
As longtime Executive Head of Television Casting and Feature Film Consultant for MGM Studios, Weber moved seamlessly between TV and film. He cast the wildly popular STARGATE franchise and other acclaimed series including SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA, SHE SPIES, POLTERGEIST, DEAD LIKE ME, and THE OUTER LIMITS—projects that collectively earned 21 Primetime Emmy nominations.
On the big screen, he has contributed to numerous MGM features, including the blockbuster JAMES BOND franchise, FAME, ZOOKEEPER with Kevin James, HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, RED DAWN with Chris Hemsworth, Joss Whedon’s CABIN IN THE WOODS, and ROBOCOP. His home entertainment credits include LEGALLY BLONDES, PICTURE THIS, INTO THE BLUE 2, WARGAMES, and the SPECIES and CUTTING EDGE franchises.
Now an independent casting director and producer, Weber’s recent and ongoing credits include projects for STARZ, NETFLIX, A&E, HULU, COMEDY CENTRAL, and LIFETIME. His films THE CURSE OF BUCKOUT ROAD and THE ISLAND BETWEEN TIDES are streaming internationally, and he recently cast and executive produced R.L. Stine’s ZOMBIE TOWN, starring Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase (now streaming on Hulu). His upcoming feature, CRY FROM THE SEA, will premiere theatrically in fall 2025. He also serves as Casting Executive for the immersive stage tour THE QUEEN’S BALL: A BRIDGERTON EXPERIENCE.
Weber is renowned not only for his casting work but also as a sought-after audition coach. He leads cold reading intensives and scene-study workshops worldwide, helping performers gain critical insight into the audition process. He has taught at UCLA and led standing-room-only workshops at the Screen Actors Guild.
A member of the Casting Society of America and the Writers Guild of America, Weber has also served on the Host Committee for the Academy Awards. A Connecticut native, he lives in Hollywood.
