Designed and led by co-authors of The Jobbing Actor (an innovative six-week coaching programme), Bert & Butler, will empower you take stock of where you are personally and professionally, instigate long-term, positive change, and reclaim ownership of your career. Based on their ground-breaking six-week coaching programme, the weekend will include industry-focused and holistic exercises, group discussion and feedback sessions. Week by week, it will guide you through a structured series of industry-focused and holistic exercises and challenges. Anita Gilbert and Letty Butler (aka Bert & Butler) have between them over forty years’ experience in the business. Anita has worked as a professional actor, as well as a theatrical agent, and is now a full-time voice and accent coach. Letty is a jobbing actor and comedienne, with extensive credits for stage and screen. She’s also an award-winning writer and professional life coach.

    Letty Butler & Anita Gilbert

    We are Anita Gilbert and Letty Butler aka Bert & Butler, and have been chums and colleagues for nearly 21 years. Between us, we have over forty years’ worth of experience in the business.

    LETTY BUTLER is a jobbing actor, with extensive credits for stage and screen, and is represented by United Agents. She’s also a professional creative coach (Distinction from Kingstown College/EMCC accredited), with three degrees (BA Hons 2:1 in English Literature & Theatre from Leeds University, BA Honours 2:1 in Acting from LAMDA and an MA Distinction in Creative Writing from Sheffield Hallam University). Letty is also an award-winning writer, whose debut novel will be published by Hachette in March 2027.

    Letty has worked with Ricky Gervais, Miranda Hart, Dawn French, Jane Campion and Lone Scherfig. Her credits include feature films Bright Star, Their Finest Hour and On the Road. TV includes series regular roles in BBC's Wolfblood, Young Dracula and Katy. She is also an award-winning writer, whose debut novel will be published by Hachette in March 2027. ANITA GILBERT is also from an acting background and worked professionally after graduating from ALRA in 1996. From the late 90s to 2015 Anita worked alongside Philippa Howell (PHPM) as an assistant agent. Together they built a thriving theatrical agency. Anita holds an MA (Distinction) in Professional Voice Practice from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and now works as a professional voice and accent director. She is a senior lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire, works 1:1 with clients and on shows supporting voice, text, and accent work. Anita has worked on productions for the RSC, Sheffield Theatres, Derby Theatre, New Vic Theatre Stoke, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse, Shakespeare North, Sky Arts, Lime Pictures, and BBC Radio 4 Drama..
