UPCOMING CYCLES:
MARCH: OUTTA THE HEAD, INTO THE BODY
This month we focus on getting out of the mind and into the physical work that frees the voice. Through breath work, Laban-inspired release, and body-focused exploration, we’ll open the body as the vessel your emotions move through. You’ll let the body lead and the voice follow, creating a clearer connection to your emotional life in performance.
Class Line-Up:
- Outta Your Head, Into Your Body: Get grounded, release tension, and let your body lead your vocal and emotional work. Explore how it feels to really say the words.
- Voice Release & Breath Work: Discover how breath support can release your voice for a stronger presence on-camera and on-stage. Strengthen the connection between breath, body, and voice for dynamic performances.
- Body, Blocking, and Vocal Power: Make your movement work for your story, not against it. Apply Lecoq and Viewpoints to sharpen the physical and vocal presence of your piece.
- Scene & Monologue Workshop: Apply the work. Perform a piece, receive feedback, and integrate voice, body, and emotional connection.
APRIL: VOCALLY CHARGED STORYTELLING
Connect. Articulate. Act. This month is about making your voice active, connected, and dynamic in performance every class. We’ll focus on speaking from real impulse – connecting voice to body so you’re not breathy, disconnected, or pushing for effect. In addition to our healthy vocal basics, we’ll be touching on Meisner basics, articulation through focused text work, and tactic changes. Regain vocal power in your scene work – your self tapes will thank you later!
- Are You Really Speaking? Connect voice to body using Meisner basics. Eliminate breathy habits, build grounded impulse, and speak with presence and truth.
- Articulation & Text Lab: Clean-up tongue, jaw, and lip engagement and eliminate tension. Use articulation to clarify intention and energize text.
- Get What You Want Voice + Tactics: Work with action verbs and dynamic vocal choices to pursue objectives and shift the story.
- Monologue/Scene Performance Day: Apply the work. Perform a monologue or scene, and integrate connection, clarity, tactics, and vocal power.
